After getting answers from Tekgem and Traction, we didn’t want to leave ourselves out. So, we asked Stuart Harwood, our Head of Professional Services, the same set of questions to keep things balanced.

Can you tell me about yourself and what your company does?

Siker is a UK-based cyber security consultancy specialising in training, advisory, and professional services. Our focus is on securing Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) across sectors such as oil and gas, nuclear, government, water, and transportation. We help organisations protect their operational technology (OT) environments and bridge the gap between cyber security and engineering.

Founded on the principle that effective cyber resilience starts with people, we prioritise practical, scenario-based learning and real-world consultancy. Our team combines deep technical expertise with extensive field experience, enabling us to work seamlessly with OT engineers, health and safety professionals, and CNI stakeholders. This unique blend ensures our services are not only technically sound but also operationally relevant and aligned with safety and compliance standards.

Our offerings include tailored cyber security training, incident response readiness, industrial control system (ICS) security assessments, and strategic risk consulting. We pride ourselves on being trusted partners—often serving as the interface between technical teams and executive leadership to enable informed decision-making around cyber risks.

Siker is currently expanding its international footprint, with a strong focus on North Africa, particularly Egypt. We see this region as strategically important due to its growing investment in infrastructure and digital transformation. Our aim is to support governments and enterprises in building long-term cyber resilience through sustainable, locally-relevant solutions.

We also work with international bodies and institutions, such as the Arab League of States, helping shape regional cyber security strategies and capacity-building initiatives. At our core, Siker exists to simplify complex cyber security challenges, enable resilience in high-risk environments, and ensure that safety and security go hand in hand.

What are you looking forward to at FDC?

At Siker, we’re genuinely looking forward to the FDC Summit as a platform to connect with like-minded professionals from across the globe who share a commitment to advancing cyber security and resilience within critical infrastructure and national defence.

We believe that real progress happens through collaboration, and we’re excited by the opportunity to engage with partners from a diverse range of nations and sectors. Building meaningful, cross-border relationships is essential for tackling today’s complex cyber challenges—and events like FDC are key to making that happen.

We’re also particularly looking forward to attending and participating in the panel sessions. These discussions are not only influential but also incredibly valuable for exchanging ideas, exploring new perspectives, and helping shape the future of cyber security policy, strategy, and implementation. Contributing to and learning from these conversations is a vital part of how we continue to grow and refine our approach.

For us, FDC is more than just a conference—it’s a chance to collaborate, share insights, and be part of a community working towards a safer, more secure future.

Is there something about the Egyptian culture that interests you?

Absolutely, Egypt’s deep and rich history is something that fascinates us at Siker. As a company with a growing interest in the region, we’re genuinely inspired by the legacy of innovation, resilience, and civilisation that Egypt represents. From ancient engineering marvels to the enduring influence of its cultural heritage, there’s so much to admire and learn from.

We’re also very interested in Egypt’s vibrant and diverse culture today. The warmth and hospitality of the people, the richness of tradition, and the incredible food all combine to create something truly unique. It’s a culture that balances deep historical roots with modern dynamism—something we find both compelling and humbling.

For us, engaging with Egyptian culture isn’t just about appreciation, it’s about understanding the context and values that shape partnerships in the region. It’s a key part of building strong, respectful, and lasting relationships as we expand our footprint in North Africa.

We would like to thank Stuart for taking the time to answer these questions, we hope himself and Tim (Siker CEO) have a great time in Egypt.
